Join sculptor and master programmer Miles Driscoll in a six-week, in-depth workshop where participants will use Rhino to develop projects which they will then realize in stone using water jet and/or CNC technology. The class comprises 6, 2-hour digital design sessions, and one weekend spent fabricating. During the course, one experimental component of each participant’s project, such as a joint, will be fabricated, and a stress test performed. The concluding weekend will see projects realized in their entireties. Projects will be individualized and based on ability and experience. Participants will be taught about working with stone, and understanding its properties from an engineering point of view, such as its tensile strength, weight, etc.
