Mechanical Hand: Using Machines to Finish Part 2
Instructor: Miles Driscoll
Dates: Session 1: July 7-8 / Session 2: July 21-22
Skill Level: Intermediate
CLASS LIMIT: 6
Tuition: $550 per session
Building upon the first Mechanical Hand workshop, Miles Driscoll will lead participants in uncharted territories by creating a 3D model completely virtually, based solely on tool paths. Students will learn how to use Grasshopper and Python to experiment with defining parameters for Rhino, often achieving unexpected results. Building upon the lessons in Mechanical Hand 1, participants will move off the tile and build more sophisticated 3-D forms. Furthermore, these pieces will be milled in marble, instead of limestone, which will expand opportunities for visual detail and texture.
